Wedding Photography FAQs
Are you prepared to travel?
Although I live in Bedfordshire I am prepared to cover all the surrounding counties and London. But rest assured, I am also more than happy to travel across the UK if required. Please bear in mind that travel within 50 mile radius from my postcode, MK42, is included in price of my wedding collections. Any distance outside the 50 mile radius will be charged at 45p per mile.
As for portrait photography pricing, travel within 25 mile radius from my postcode is included. Additional distance outside the 25 mile radius is charged at 45p per mile.
How to book the wedding date?
You can book me to photograph your wedding using the contact form on the Contact Me page. A non-refundable booking fee of £200 along with signed contract is required at the time of booking to secure your date. The balance is due one month before your wedding date. Of course, I would like to meet you beforehand so we can get to know each other. It also gives us an opportunity to discuss your requirements and enables me to fully understand your expectations and the general style and theme of the wedding.
Do you offer Wedding Collections?
I offer a “Basic Collection” Wedding Photography package which includes 10hrs of coverage during the day, fully edited pictures in digital format, access to an online proofing gallery and mobile app. Your images will also be delivered on USB stick in a beautiful presentation box. I have created 2 more Wedding Collections based on my experience of what many couples want from their wedding photography. The “Midnight Blue Collection” set is my optimal offer. As well as the wedding coverage there is an ‘Ice Breaker’ in the form of an Engagement Shoot. It creates a great opportunity for you to see me working and for us to get to know each other before the wedding. The “Golden Collection” package provides a balanced selection of digital and printed presentation products with an Engagement Shoot and a luxury handmade Wedding Album.
Are you insured as a photographer?
Yes, of course I am fully insured. I’ve got public liability and professional indemnity insurance. My photographic gear is also insured.
Who retains copyright?
The Photographer always retains ownership of full copyright of all photographs taken. I will grant you a lifetime personal usage license. This license includes permission to share the images with friends and family including printing and publishing the photographs on social networking media but does not allow the images to be sold for profit. However, I do request that the photographs are not altered or manipulated in any way.
Are engagement pictures necessary?
Basically, an engagement shoot is a perfect introduction of what to expect from me as a photographer during your wedding which will be one of the most important days of your life. A location engagement photography is similar in principle to a professional couple photoshoot. This is much more relaxed experience for you than wedding itself and the resulting imagery will have a completely different feel to your wedding day photos.
Should we book a second shooter?
It is entirely up to you. You have to remember that the wedding day schedule will be busy and I would hate to know that some precious moments will be missed and the full story cannot be professionally captured. It’s also useful to add a photographer when multiple locations are involved. For instance, while I am shooting bride prep my assistant would cover the groom’s prep. If I am doing speeches, my second shooter would offer a different perspective capturing the reaction of the guests or simply documenting those precious candid moments, for example kids running around enjoying the day.
Do you store digital pictures after the wedding?
Following final delivery of the digital files, I will keep a backup copy for a minimum of 2 years after the Wedding Date.
